DNA blood sexing (poultry) (per chick)

DNA blood sexing cost per chick. 

AQUIRE SUPPLIES

0.2ml PCR tubes microcenterfuge Tubes, Small bag for EACH blood sample (we are avoiding cross contamination, folks) alcohol wipes gloves. Nail clippers. Bleed stop powders if needed and gloves.

COLLECT BLOOD

Clean and sterilize your nail clippers with alcohol before and between

EACH chick. Clip a small amount of toenail and put blood into LID of PCR tubes. We DO NOT need a lot of blood.

Avoid touching the inside of the lid.

LABEL

Label tube with sharpie, in numerical order.

Label baggie with tube number & you can add chicken description or name. If anything breaks, tubes do not cross contaminate.

MAILING

I would recommend mailing samples with a USPS or UPS tracking number and in a small box or padded envelope. Please provide email to send your results to. You can mail to:

FYI

If for any reason a sample is unclear I will rerun test with the blood you have already sent. If an error still occurs with the rerun, I will let you know but you will still be responsible for the cost of the test.
