Elector PSP is an effective control agent for mites, lice, house flies, darkling beetles, and other pests in and around facilities. It can also be applied directly to birds to control infestations.

Elector PSP is made from spinosad, a fermented bacteria that feeds on the eggs and larvae of insects. This makes it a double threat to insects, as it is both a larvicide and an adulticide.

For Northern Fowl mites, mix 9 mL of Elector PSP in 1 gallon of water and spray the birds’ backs, under their wings, and the vent thoroughly. Repeat this treatment every 10-14 days if necessary. A garden sprayer from Home Depot works well for this purpose.

For red chicken mites, which live in the coop and feed on birds at night, mix 11 mL of Elector PSP in 1 gallon of water. Spray the roosts and floors, paying special attention to cracks and crevices where the mites can enter. You can also spray the outside perimeter and any roosts outside the coop. A garden sprayer from Home Depot works well for this purpose.

How to use Elector PSP

    1. Shake Bottle well.
    2. Immediately before use, dilute the entire bottle (9 ml) of Elector PSP in one gallon of water (or 45 drops of Elector PSP for a 16 oz spray bottle if you need less). One Gallon will treat at least 50 Chickens.
    3. Add to Spray Bottle.
    4. Apply to each chicken in the flock. Be sure to wet the feathers and skin around the vents, as well as the wings. We spray our entire birds.
    5. If you need to treat your coop as well, be sure to thoroughly clean it before applying Elector PSP.
    6. With Elector PSP, there is no "egg or meat hold back" period, and it will not affect the Chicken's eggs or meat.
